Learn more about this incredible resort, and discover all the reasons to make your next getaway a hot-springs trip with family and friends.

Soak in the Yampah Mineral Baths

Opened in 2024, the Yampah Mineral Baths are the resort’s newest attraction, featuring five hot-springs pools, each with different temperatures and unique cascading water features.

Cascade Waters

With a range of 100–104 degrees Fahrenheit, this bath will be a favorite spot for heat lovers looking to unwind. During your dip, find your Zen as you listen to the peaceful sounds of the water curtain tumbling into the pool. This natural music is said to help ease stress and anxiety and induce a state of relaxation.

Sacred Waters

Running slightly cooler with temperatures between 97–102 degrees, Sacred Waters is as cozy as a typical hot tub — with significantly better scenery. Its infinity edge offers uninterrupted vistas of the towering peaks surrounding the resort by day and glorious views of the starry cosmos at night, promoting a sense of harmony and well-being.

Falling Waters

As the deliciously hot water — 95–100 degrees Fahrenheit, to be exact — cascades down the rock wall, you’ll be transported to a steamy high-mountain grotto. Enjoy the sonorous rhythm of the falls as you soak or stand beneath them for a natural massage on your shoulders, neck and back.

Exhale

Set at 75–80 degrees, this pool is one of two mineral baths for those seeking a cold-contrast experience. Progress through the toastier pools before hopping into Exhale for a little cold-water therapy, said to help speed healing and ease muscle pain.

Inhale

At 52–60 degrees Fahrenheit, Inhale is the chilliest of the mineral baths. Let the cooler waters rush over you from one of three gushing overhead streams, or take an electrifying cold plunge — which may offer therapeutic benefits, including help with inflammation, energy levels, mental clarity, circulation and muscle recovery.

Move through the different pools, switching between hot and cold, or pick one that feels just right and soak until sufficiently pruney. The variety of temperatures and experiences means there will be something for everyone in your group. Additionally, all the mineral baths utilize geothermal waters of the original Yampah source spring and contain 15 minerals, which are purported to help soothe aches and pains as you luxuriate in the pools.

In the evening, the Yampah Mineral Bath offers a quieter atmosphere with soaking sessions for bathers 18 and older Plus, the soft lighting throughout the resort’s hot-springs pools creates a cozy, yet elevated vibe.

Extend Your Visit With an Overnight Stay

Surrounded by Colorado’s adventure-packed mountains, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is the perfect vacation home base. Explore the local trails, ski runs and sights, then return in the evening to unwind and luxuriate in the mineral-springs pools. And when you’re ready to sleep, your soft, comfy bed is only steps away at one of two great lodging options.

Hotel 1888

Experience history in real time when you stay at the new Hotel 1888 — named for the year in which the resort first opened. Originally called the Stone Bath House, this building was added in 1890, and crafted from locally quarried red sandstone. It boasted a slew of extravagant amenities for wealthy guests, including 40-plus indoor Roman-style baths, a casino, a reading room, a smoking room and separate lounges for ladies and gentlemen among other luxuries.

In spring 2025, the former bathhouse will complete its transformation into a boutique hotel featuring 16 unique rooms with special access to the historic pools.

The Lodge

Starting in early January 2025, all guests at The Lodge at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort will be staying in revamped rooms with new decor, linens and updated bathrooms. The Lodge offers a larger hotel setting with more than 100 rooms ranging from standard double-queen or single-king-bed accommodations to spacious suites.

Families can opt for one of the handful of connecting rooms, so your whole group can stay together while having their own spaces. Meanwhile, couples can enjoy a romantic escape in their private king-sized digs. In the morning, Lodge guests can fuel up for the day ahead with a complimentary breakfast at the poolside Grill.

Overnight stays at either hot-springs lodging include complete access to all the pools, including the new Yampah Mineral Baths.

Kid-Approved Fun

Alongside all the relaxing amenities, this family-friendly Colorado resort provides plenty to entertain the children — and the children at heart — in your party. And best of all, access to these fun zones (open seasonally) is included in your admission to the hot springs.

Sopris Splash Zone

In summer, the Sopris Splash Zone is a kids’ paradise featuring three mini-water slides to zip down, a waterfall that mimics the famous Hanging Lake (reservations required) in Glenwood Canyon and interactive water features perfect for splashing. For younger guests, shallow pools provide wading opportunities, while the nearby pergola creates a shady spot to recuperate — or even nap on a chaise lounge.

Shoshone Chutes

The Shoshone Chutes are an exciting whitewater-style tube ride for all ages of thrill-seekers. Feel as if you’re being whisked down the Colorado River as you float through stretches of bumpy rapids, plunge down unexpected drops and whoosh around twists and turns.

Grand Fountain

During the day, the Grand Fountain is a great area for little ones to romp and play in. They’ll love stomping through the gentle jets of water, spraying their playmates and giggling as they go. In the evening, this kiddie playground transforms into a color-changing water feature that creates a pretty light show after the sun has set.

Be sure to check seasonal hours and openings for these attractions.

Try the Historical Pools

Therapy Pool

One of the resort’s original pools from 1888, the Therapy Pool is a great area for the whole family to spend time together. Kids will love the expansive space for practicing their doggy paddles, while adults will revel in the consistent 104-degree temperature, the soothing water jets of the therapy chairs and the upper-body massages from the power shower clusters.

Grand Pool

Spanning the length of more than two city blocks, the Grand Pool holds the title of World’s Largest Hot Springs Pool. Another part of the original hot-springs complex, its 90–93-degree depths make it perfect for pleasant hours of soaking and swimming.

The massive hot-springs pool features a sizable diving area and several lap lanes and still has space to spread out. Flotation devices are welcome in the Grand Pool, so feel free to bring your own or snag one from The Shop. (here, you’ll find everything from forgotten essentials, like swimsuits and flip-flops, to swim accessories and souvenirs to remember your incredible experiences).

Whether you’re looking for a restorative weekend escape or a longer destination vacation with family and friends, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is the perfect getaway location for all ages.
