Course through powdered slopes while taking in mountain views or be whisked away under the stars at night time runs. With multiple levels of terrain to choose from and lift access options, there’s a snow-tubing or sledding hill for everyone — here are a few places in Colorado to get you started.
Tube Howelsen
Steamboat Springs
Tube Howelsen promises plenty of family-friendly fun. Set in downtown Steamboat Springs' locally loved Howelsen Hill Ski Area, this tubing destination has it all. Rent a giant tube and then ride to the top on an enclosed magic carpet that features a fabulous light show. Once you emerge, fly down the hill as Steamboat's famous Champagne Powder® tickles your nose.
Après Tubing: Keep the momentum going at Snow Bowl, where you can hit a strike and win big with the kids thanks to a menu boasting hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken tenders.
Copper Mountain Tubing Hill
Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain’s tubing hill, like those found at most major ski resorts in Colorado, is a well-equipped fun zone, complete with four designated tubing lanes. A magic-carpet lift whisks you and your tube to the top, where friendly staff will give you a good fling and send you spinning down through curves and over bumps.
Après Tubing: The activities continue at Woodward Copper Barn, an indoor training facility with artificial snow jumps, foam pits and trampolines. Drop-in sessions and private lessons are available; just be sure to plan ahead.
The Meadows at Elk Camp
Snowmass
Snowmass Mountain boasts multiple lift-served tubing lanes carved into The Meadows at Elk Camp. Course through pristine powder by day or under the illumination of lighted runs by night during Ullr Nights festivities and on special holidays. Book a combo ticket to access the nearby Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and fly through a mile of snow-laden forest on an elevated track at speeds of up to 28 mph for an all-day adventure.
Après Tubing: Celebrate Ullr, the Norse god of snow, on select nights throughout the winter season with outdoor activities including sledding, tubing, fire-dancing and dinner at Elk Camp Restaurant.
